Does language divides us or unifies us?
Language is present in every culture. It is the key to communication among societies. But what happens when language is different among societies or if it the same? I came to the conclusion that language can divide us and also unifies us depending what language do we know and what language the people that we want to talk or communicate with know. I speak Spanish and when I came to the US i didn't know English. For me it was a barrier for school. I had to stop taking my regular classes that I use to take at my home country and I had to take ESL (English as a Second Language) Classes. Sometimes when I tried to make friends other than Spanish speakers classmates they didn't understand me or i didn't understand them. I was really frustrating because i couldn't express my feeling or my opinions. For my experience that I had when I didn't know English I conclude that language can divides us because if you try to speak with someone who doesn't speak your same language or doesn't have a language in common with you there are so many difficulties to understand that person. Language can also unify people, communities, countries. People who speak the same language can be more connected and express their ideas, feelings, opinions easily. Politics can convince people to vote for them by making their publicity in the language that people of that region know. Parents can talk with their children using the same language. US official language is English for these reason we need to learn this language so we can be more able to communicate with each other.

imigration
Immigration is a problem that make most of the people who immigrate feel sad . Not just the people who left their country suffer from it, but also the families that are left behind. My parents have been living here in the US for almost 19 years. When they came here I was 1 year old. I stayed in my home-country with my grandparents who see me grow. When I become 15 years my parents decide to bring me here. I never imagined to came here. I want my parents to go back and i thought that they were going to come back to my country. But things were different. I had to came here. It was an impact for my life because i didn't know anybody here, not even my parents. The worst part was to leave my grandparents and the rest of my family and my friends. I left everything behind: my house, my school, my pets, my friends. Everything that i knew was in my home-country, Ecuador. For me came here was to start everything from zero. I had to learn a new language, what is very difficult for me, I also had to meet new people. For me going to high school here was so frustrating, fist because i didn't know English and second because I didn't have friends. All I wanted to do was become 18 years old and go back to Ecuador. Now, things are different. I don't love living here, but I don't hate it either. I realize that live is hard and that we need to work and study really hard to get a job in the future and I think that I have more opportunities here than I have in my country to achieve my goals.
